Elena Kuki, American fiber artist based in Lake Placid, NY, USA. Born in Russia, she studied art at College of Fashion Design and State Pedagogical University In Naberezhnye Chelny, Republic Tatarstan, Russia.
Kuki describes needlework as a skill handed down through multiple generations. With 17 years of experience teaching applied arts, she and her students have showcased their work in local and international exhibitions. Additionally, Kuki has designed fantasy and folk costumes, as well as scenery for television shows, earning awards for her costumes at the Flower Festival contests in Russia.
Today, Elena Kuki creates fiber art that reflects a worldview relevant to all humanity: the belief that our planet can and should be preserved by respecting local traditions and nature’s spirit. For her, art is a means of acquiring knowledge about the world, humanity, and reality. It is a way to contemplate and pursue natural harmony.
Kuki's art is featured in private collections in Russia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Greece, Australia, and the United States.
