Born in 1994, Max Reinhard is a painter and illustrator, whose focus is on academic painting, surreal illustrations, and fantasy art.
Reinhard completed his BFA with honors at Montserrat College of Art in May, 2018.
Max Reinhard’s work evokes dream-like imagery & fantastical themes to create an ethereal
and unsettling narrative. He uses a mixed media approach, which includes a combination of acrylic paints, gouache, pastel, ink, colored pencil, and digital art. His illustrations consist of eerie figures, plants, animals, and insects, existing in liminal landscapes.
Reinhard uses both painterly and illustrative approaches to his work, with stylistic
influences that pull from the Art Nouveau, Edwardian, and Impressionist movements. Capturing mood through use of color is paramount in his practice, as is the exploration of contour and light.
